Private Document Scanner Online

Most scanner apps — CamScanner, Adobe Scan, Microsoft Lens — upload your scans to cloud servers for processing or storage. This creates privacy risks for sensitive documents like Aadhaar, PAN, financial statements, and medical records. BharatScan is architecturally different: all scanning happens in your browser with no upload, no cloud, and no third-party access.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is BharatScan more private than CamScanner or Adobe Scan?

CamScanner and Adobe Scan upload your document images to their cloud servers for OCR and processing. BharatScan processes everything using OpenCV.js running locally in your browser — no camera frame or scan image is ever sent to any server.

Is my Aadhaar or PAN card safe when scanned with BharatScan?

Yes. BharatScan's camera feed goes directly to the browser's canvas — it's processed by WebAssembly/JavaScript locally and never transmitted anywhere. Your Aadhaar number and PAN number are never exposed to external systems.

Does BharatScan store my scans anywhere?

No. Scanned images are held in browser memory (RAM) only for the duration of your session. When you close the tab or browser, all scan data is cleared. Nothing is saved to localStorage, cookies, or any remote database.

What happens to my document after I download the PDF?

Once you download the PDF, the browser's memory is freed. The PDF exists only in your device's Downloads folder — BharatDocSeva has no copy of it and cannot access it.
